09-12-09  After several tries this season, my dad and I went hunting in a light rain behind our deer camp today and I finally killed my first squirrel! Before the season my dad gave me his old Mossberg 20 gauge pump shotgun that he got when he was a kid, and that's what I used. It kicks quite a bit with high brass #5 shot, but that's what it took to get my first squirrel. Last weekend we tried low brass #7 1/2 shot and it didn't work at all. I shot at (and hit) three squirrels last weekend but didn't kill anything.  I made up for it this weekend.......
